Upper College Hall

Upper College Hall provides the perfect setting for wedding receptions, civil ceremonies and prestigious events. This impressive room features grand interiors, a sweeping staircase and a beautiful historic setting.

The venue can can be reached via a grand staircase and is a wonderful venue for those wishing to dance the night away. It boasts a large dance floor, an oak bar and an integrated public address system.

Rates

From £395 for a ceremony/reception in Upper College Hall. Please note, you will have to pay a deposit of 20% of your final cost to secure your chosen date.

You can add decorative material to venues, and access is available in the morning of your wedding and – dependent on availability – possibly the day before. The events team will set up any table decorations for you.

Table linen is provided by the events team. Chair covers are charged at an additional £2.25 per chair. The linen provided is ivory with gold chair sashes and ivory napkins. If a different colour of linen is required, this can be hired with an additional fee.

In addition to table linen, a table plan and a round/square solid silver cake stand and silver cake knife are also provided.

Any decorations and gifts from the event can be stored in a locked room overnight, you can arrange a time with the team to collect them.

Please inform the events team about what decorative material you are planning to bring, as some University buildings have ancient features which will not be suitable to attach décor to. There are many excellent photographic locations around the University. The Lower and Upper College Halls are situated in the town centre of St Andrews with many stunning photographic locations just walking distance away. For example, the cathedral, the beach and St Salvator’s Quadrangle.

PA systems with microphones are available for speeches at the event, and iPods and MP3 players can be used for music.
Accommodation is a available from June to August. These can be booked either through the social event manager as a group booking paid for by yourself, or booked by your guests individually online. Find out more about special accommodation offers for wedding guests.
If any event attendees require a taxi, there are many local taxi services in St Andrews. The events team would be happy to suggest one and provide you with contact details.
